Escape: Community Art in Action (trading as Escape Arts) is a charity based in Stratford upon Avon whose area of benefit covers Warwickshire and surrounding areas. As well as being a registered charity, it is a registered company limited by guarantee, not having a share capital (hence a non-profit organisation).

It is run by a small team of dedicated staff led by the CEO. It is governed by a Board of Trustees. Trustees usually serve a three-year term from appointment, with the opportunity to stand for further three-year terms, provided that no trustee may serve for more than nine years.

Governance of the charity is achieved through the following meeting structure:

  • Board - four meetings per year, plus one off-site strategy day
  • Finance Sub-Committee - four meetings per year
  • Operations Sub- Committee - four meetings per year
  • HR Sub-Committee – four meetings per year
