Programme Info

Do you have what it takes to storm a castle, defeat the evil dragon, andsave the beautiful royal? Have you the mettle to band together with likeminded individuals and work together to save the day: for glory, treasure, and honour? Are you up to the task of becoming a Cunning Rogue, a Courageous Ranger, or a Mystical Wizard? Then welcome to…the Escape Arts Dungeons & Dragons Youth Society!

Dungeons & Dragons has been played by kids, teens and adults alike for over 50 years! Technology and gaming may have evolved in that time, but Dungeons & Dragons has stayed just the same: all you need is a pen and paper and a whole heap of imagination!

The game consists of 4-8 players, who create their own characters filled with as much or as little creativity and imagination as the player decides to devise, who are then thrown into a world created by the Dungeon Master (DM). Within this world, the players will face a variety of encounters and scenarios, from fighting deadly foes, chatting to interesting characters and more complex scenarios where they must combine ideas to save the day.

During the pandemic, Dungeons & Dragons gaming surged due to its engaging, sociable, and easily accessible nature. In this time studies were conducted with most results showing playing Dungeons & Dragons had a positive impact on confidence, inclusivity and individuality as well as supporting mental ill health, such as anxiety and depression.

We play Dungeons & Dragons as part of our Stratford Youth Gaming Club at Stratford Youth Hub, which takes place every other Tuesday from 6pm-7:30pm. Every term, we begin a new campaign with new players and during half term, we offer a Dungeons & Dragons taster session where you can come and have a go and if you enjoy it, you can register for our termly campaigns.
