What is Dungeons and Dragons?

Dungeons and Dragons (DnD) has been played by kids, teens and adults for over 50 years!

Technology and gaming may have evolved in that time but DnD has stayed just the same: all you need is a pen and paper and a whole heap of imagination!

The game consists of 4-8 players, who create their own characters filled with as much or as little creativity and imagination as the player decides to devise, who are then thrown into a world created by the Dungeon Master (DM). Within this world, the players will face a variety of encounters and scenarios, from fighting deadly foes, chatting to interesting characters and more complex scenarios where they must combine ideas to save the day.

During the pandemic, DnD gaming surged due to its engaging, sociable and easily accessible nature. In this time studies were conducted with most results showing playing Dungeons and Dragons had a positive affect on confidence, inclusivity and individuality as well as mental health issues such as anxiety and depression.

Who, What, When and Where?

Currently, due to the pandemic, we are playing virtually using a variety of official and trusted websites to create create our characters, engage with maps and speak virtually (We use Discord, DnDBeyond and Roll20, please read our virtual safeguarding policy if you have any concerns).
We’re hoping in the new year to bring the game to in=person session run from our space in Stratford-Upon-Avon.

That said, we appreciate we’re still in the woods in regards to Covid and both logistics and wellbeing may impact getting involved in-person. Therefore, we are happy to offer a ‘hybrid’ playing for those who still want to get involved in our in-person games but may not be able to attend.

We currently play every Friday evening between 4:30pm and 7pm. with increased interest this may expand to other days and times.

In order to play all you need is yourselves and as much imagination you can muster! All resources, subscriptions and materials are provided in house so you needn’t worry about investing anything other than time.

If you have any questions, concerns or interest please email us at [email protected] and our DM will get back to you as soon as possible.
