Art Can Be Rubbish Too
Art Can Be Rubbish Too captures Escape Arts trip to Weston-Super-Mare in August 2021. Working with Artists Rob Hamp and Ros Ingram, Escape Arts beneficiaries, volunteers and staff spent the morning litter picking on the beach. In the afternoon, we used all of the rubbish collected to build a donkey, a symbol of Weston-Super-Mare that raises awareness on the impact of rubbish on our beaches. This artistic transformation turns waste into a conversation piece, educating others about the link between consumer behavior and environmental degradation. Projects like this can inspire ongoing environmental activism and artistic expression, motivating others to think about how art can be a vehicle for social and ecological change.
