Grotto on the Go

Escape’s Surprise Santa visits families who are unable to visit Father Christmas or a traditional grotto.. We transform our multimedia bus into a fully functional ‘grotto-on-the-go’, complete with presents, elves and even a chimney! In 2018, we reached over 500 people through these visits and we hope to reach more this Christmas.

The visits are organised by nominations from the community. Nomination forms will be available to download and submit on our website in Autumn 2019. We cannot promise to surprise all nominees as it is such a busy time for the big man, but we hope to reach as many families as possible.

To support our Surprise Santa Visits, we also organise a Toy Drive with local collection points around Warwickshire. We would like to ask people to donate items for all the family, so any new or new and unused items such as hats, scarves and toiletries in addition to toys for the children would put a big smile on everyone’s face this festive season.  If you’re interested in getting involved with this project to support Santa as a trusted Elf or ‘grotto-on-the-go’ driver, contact:

Warwick Hospital

As part of our Grotto on the Go, Santa visits Warwick Hospital with his merry troop of Elves.  Santa visits lots of wards throughout the day, including A&E, the children’s ward, maternity where babies can have their first selfies with Santa.  We also visit the frailty wards, bringing gifts and mince pies.

New to 2019 – Join of Claus Christmas Choir.  Escape will be running a Christmas Community Choir, starting in October.  The choir will accompany Santa and the Claus family on visits to Warwick Hospital and other healthcare settings.  You will need to ‘Elf Up’ for this. If you want to get involved please contact

If you want to nominate a family for a special visit please download the application form here.  We are always interested to hear of organisations for whom a Santa visit and his choir would make a real difference, so please get in touch.
