At Escape we do all we can to bring our heritage to life. This involves creating fantastic reenactment events for the whole community to get involved with. These usually focus on Heritage Open Days in September and in previous years we have recreated the Tudor pub ‘The Crowne’ which once stood on our site. We have recreated a 1940s Railway Station and in 2018 a WWII land army wedding.
Our mission is to tell the untold of stories of Stratford and its people, we bring characters back from the past through virtual reality, creative workshops and storytelling performances. An important part of our work is collating oral histories and building events around these stories. The WWII wedding inspired by local land girls, they in fact were invited to the wedding and were the bridesmaids. We get everyone involved from across our community projects, local businesses and organisations, bringing everybody together to celebrate our town.
