Escape Arts -  Meeting Your Needs

In 2017 Escape celebrated 20 years of providing arts, health and heritage services to the West Midlands. Escape has established regular bases in Stratford, Leamington and Nuneaton as well as working in other communities across the region, delivering pop-up activities for schools, communities, healthcare providers and private organisations.  We also gained the accreditation Quality for Health Level 1 Award. Quality for Health, developed by Voluntary Action, Calderdale in partnership with the Calderdale Clinical Commissioning Group is quality assurance system to support the charity sector in demonstrating the difference it is making to service users through the delivery of high quality health services.

We know that arts can be the best medicine. Engagement in arts activity supports recovery, relaxation, confidence, self- esteem, inclusion, routine, and giving a fresh perspective on life.

Referrals to our project will have an initial meeting with our Arts & Health Coordinator who will offer guidance about the best way to get involved, will work with our Link Coordinators to make sure you get any support needed to access activities of your choice and will provide follow up support when needed.

Our Link Coordinators at each of our sessions meet new participants and welcome them to the group and help you to decide what activities you want get involved in or refer you to our arts & Health coordinator.

Escape’s projects provide valuable relaxation time, friendship, learning and confidence building to improve personal decision making and for individuals to feel a good sense of personal fulfilment.

Escape has worked with Shakespeare Hospice, Warwickshire Young Carers, George Eliot Hospital, Four Acres Dementia Unit , Woodleigh Beeches, Warwickshire Schools, Merevale House,  Dementia Cafe's, Wellbeing Centres, National Trust and is a member of West Midlands Arts Health & Wellbeing Network.
