Enamelling is the art of fusing glass onto metal. We will be exploring enamelling, using finely ground powdered glass (enamel) onto copper then firing it in a kiln at a high temperature. During the session we will be experimenting with a range of techniques including using frit, stencils and sifting to create a unique piece of wearable jewellery or a small picture. This will be suitable for beginners as well as those that just want to practice their skills making birds. We will be using natural and coloured wool sourced from the UK to sculpt into a beautiful bird, which can then be a Christmas decoration to hang from the tree or we will add legs to make a self standing sculpture, the choice will be yours! The three birds to choose from are Robin, Wren and Blue Tit. You can choose whether to make one with lots of detail or two more rustic birds. There are plenty of options and you will have a wonderful bird and hopefully some new skills to take home at the end of the evening.
