Past Outreach Projects

Thanks to our multimedia van, Escape Arts can come and deliver arts and wellbeing workshops wherever you are!

Escape Arts Creative Welcome Project

In August 2021, Escape Arts worked with Warwickshire County Council’s Resettlement Team to provide creative activities for families who had recently been evacuated from Afghanistan.

We were one of the first groups to work with the families and this led to a weekly after-school art and gaming club for the children which ran until the families moved into housing in 2023.

Watch our Creative Welcome Video where our Project Coordinator Nick McCarthy explains the impact of this powerful project:

Arts & Nature

From 2021-2023, we were commissioned by Warwickshire County Council to deliver 27 short creative health courses supporting adults with mild to moderate mental health challenges.

We worked in partnership with Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, ARC (Achieving Results in Communities) and talented artists/practitioners to deliver this project in green spaces across Warwickshire. Watch our short video to find out more:

Music in Care Homes

Our Creative Programme & Performance Manager Dionne Sambrook is an incredibly talented musician and together with Volunteer Nick Ransford, they have visit care homes across the county to perform concerts for their residents.

We aim to entertain and engage with residents using jazz and popular music from 1940s-1960s. Performing live enables the musicians to respond to requests and engage with the audience members with an informal style gig within a care setting.

We have also provided creative activities for the residents to do whilst they listen to the beautiful music. Watch our short video to find out more: https://youtube.com/shorts/eMQQwbt6OSU?feature=share

Creative Journalling

We have delivered Creative Journalling sessions in clinical settings and domestic violence shelters to support communication, self-expression and to improve emotional health.

We have led these sessions in domestic violence shelters with children, young people and with parents and in hospitals with staff, volunteers, and patients. After seeing the transformative impact of creative journalling on mental health, we have also developed a creative journalling pack for people to do from home.
